Privacy Policy

Groomlane is software that pet grooming salons use to take bookings and run their day. This policy explains what information we handle, why, and the choices you have. It applies to salon owners and staff who use Groomlane, and to pet owners who book through a salon's Groomlane booking page.

Who we are

Groomlane is operated from Alberta, Canada. You can reach us at hello@groomlane.com.

For information a salon keeps about its own clients and pets, the salon decides what is collected and how it is used; Groomlane stores and processes it on the salon's behalf. If you are a salon client and want to see, correct or delete your information, contact the salon first. We will help them respond.

What we collect

  • Salon accounts: names, email addresses, phone numbers and roles of owners and staff; the salon's name, address, hours, services and prices; subscription status.
  • Salon clients and pets (entered by the salon or by you on a booking page): your name, phone, email, your pets' names, breeds, sizes, birth dates, vaccination dates, grooming notes and photos, appointments, payments and tips, and whether you agreed to receive texts or emails.
  • Messages: a record of the reminders and notices sent to you and whether they were delivered.
  • Technical data: sign-in cookies that keep you logged in, and standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) kept for security. We do not use advertising cookies or sell any data. Our Cookie Policy lists every cookie we use and how to change your choice.

How we use it

  • to run the service: calendars, booking pages, pet cards, reports;
  • to send the appointment reminders, “ready for pickup” notices and offers that the salon has turned on, only to people who agreed;
  • to keep accounts secure, prevent abuse and fix problems;
  • to bill salons for their subscription and to contact salon owners about their account.

We do not sell personal information and we do not share mobile numbers or text-message consent with anyone for their marketing.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of service providers who process data for us under contracts that limit how they may use it:

  • Supabase (database, sign-in and file storage, servers in the United States);
  • Vercel (hosting of the website);
  • Twilio (text messages) and Resend (emails);
  • Cloudflare (domain and DNS);
  • a payment processor such as Stripe, when salons take deposits or pay their subscription.

Data may be stored and processed in the United States. We may also disclose information if the law requires it or to protect the safety of people or pets.

How long we keep it

Salon data is kept while the salon has an account. When a salon closes its account, we delete or anonymize its data within 90 days, except what we must keep for legal, tax or security reasons. Salons can delete individual clients and pets at any time.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit. Each salon's data is kept separate at the database level, staff only see what their role allows, and sensitive actions (role changes, deletions, refunds, exports, support access) are written to an audit log.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under Canada's PIPEDA or Alberta's PIPA, or US state laws such as the CCPA), you may ask to access, correct or delete your personal information, or withdraw consent to messages. Reply STOP to any text to stop texts, or use the unsubscribe link in any email. For anything else, contact the salon or write to hello@groomlane.com. We will answer within 30 days.

Children

Groomlane is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes

If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we will update the date above and tell salon owners by email before the change takes effect.
