Cookie Policy

Draft: this page is waiting for review. Items in [square brackets] are not final. The cookie list was checked on the live site on October 21, 2026.
This page explains which cookies and similar technologies Groomlane uses on groomlane.com, including the salon app and salon booking pages, why we use them, and how you can change your choice. It adds detail to our Privacy Policy.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Some are needed for the site to work, for example to keep you signed in. Others are optional and are only used if you allow them.
The cookies we use
We group cookies into four categories. Today Groomlane uses only strictly necessary and preference cookies. We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not load third-party analytics or advertising scripts. If that changes, we will update this page and ask for your choice again before anything optional runs.
Strictly necessary
Keep you signed in, keep the site secure and remember the choice you make here. The site cannot work without them, so they are always on.
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Kept for |
|---|---|---|---|
| sb-<project-ref>-auth-token | Groomlane (Supabase sign-in) | Keeps a salon owner or staff member signed in. Large sessions are split into parts ending in .0, .1 and so on. | 400 days, renewed while you use the app; removed when you sign out |
| sb-<project-ref>-auth-token-code-verifier | Groomlane (Supabase sign-in) | Would protect an email sign-in link so only the browser that asked can finish signing in. Groomlane's current sign-in (password and invite links) does not set it; listed because the sign-in software can. | Not set today [to verify if email-link sign-in is added] |
| gl_consent | Groomlane | Remembers your cookie choice so we do not ask on every page. | 6 months |
| gl_region | Groomlane | Remembers which cookie rules apply to your region (a region code only, not your location) and whether your browser sends Global Privacy Control. | Until you close the browser |
| gl_qb_state | Groomlane | Protects connecting QuickBooks Online: set when a salon owner presses Connect, so only the same browser can finish the sign-in. | 10 minutes; removed when the connection finishes |
Preferences
Remember small choices in the salon app, like a collapsed menu or the salon you opened last, so it looks the same next time.
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Kept for |
|---|---|---|---|
| pd_sidebar | Groomlane | Remembers whether the salon app menu is collapsed. | 1 year |
| gl_cal_panel | Groomlane | Remembers whether the calendar's day summary column is folded away. | 1 year |
| gl_salon | Groomlane | Remembers the salon you opened last, for people who work in more than one salon. | 1 year |

Marketing

In the names above, <project-ref> stands for the identifier of our Supabase project. We do not use localStorage or sessionStorage to store personal information.
Third-party providers
- Supabase provides sign-in and our database. The sign-in cookies listed above are set on our own domain by our code using Supabase's software; Supabase does not set its own cookies on groomlane.com.
- Vercel hosts the website and tells us the visitor's country, which we use only to choose which cookie rules apply. We do not use Vercel Analytics. In our check of the live site on October 21, 2026, Vercel set no cookies on groomlane.com. [to re-check before launch: hosting settings can change]
- Text messages (Twilio), emails (Resend) and payments are handled on our servers and do not set cookies on our site. If a payment page from a payment processor is added later, it may set its own cookies; this page will be updated. [placeholder — confirm with legal]
- Fonts are served from our own domain; your browser does not contact Google to load them.
Your choices
When you first visit, we ask whether you accept optional cookies. Optional categories stay off until you turn them on. You can accept all, reject optional cookies, or choose per category, and you can change your mind at any time.
The same “Cookie settings” link is at the bottom of every public page. When you switch a category off, we delete the cookies of that category that we set, and stop any optional script by reloading the page.
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a refusal of analytics and marketing cookies. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings; if you block strictly necessary cookies, you will not be able to sign in.
How long we keep your choice
Your choice is stored in the gl_consent cookie for 6 months. It contains only the version of this cookie list, the categories you chose, the time of the choice and which rules applied, nothing that identifies you. We ask again when it expires or when we change the list of cookies we use.
